So this week was a little less productive, thanks to the fact that this week our whole area was celebrating a holiday called San Juan, which is basically a party for the saint of one of their churches here. And the Church of San Juan is in our area, only a block from our house, so that was the center of all the commotion this week. And really it only affected our area, none of the other missionaries even knew it was happening, but everyday we had to battle the crowds here. It was really interesting to see all of the crazy stuff they do here haha. But almost everyone was involved in the festivities, so nobody was in their house to teach, kind of a pain. But yesterday they went nuts! They closed down all the streets in our area, just our area, for a giant 9 hour parade! Crazy right? Who even wants to sit and watch a parade for 9 hours? It ended at about 2:30 a.m., so it made it a little difficult to sleep! I'll send pics in a little, but they all dress up in these crazy outfits and just dance in the street, haha it was fun to watch!
Really, thanks to San Juan there is not a lot to report on this week, in terms of the work it was super slow. We do have a baptism planned for this Saturday though, so we are praying that everything goes well this week and that can happen!

Were able to watch the Missionary Broadcast yesterday? How cool is it that you are a part of this great work?! 70,000+ missionaries and 85,000 by the end of the year. It must be a proud time to be a missionary! I'm proud of you! :)
Brandon:
Ya the missionary broadcast was way cool, we learned a lot! It was a nice touch how they showed videos of the USA with nice houses and technology and grass, a nice reminder to all the missionaries here in the field of what we miss haha ;) But it was way cool, and again gave us a cool sense of pride to be missionaries!
Mom:
How do you contact and share the gospel with others? Are the cell phones and tablets they talked about used in your mission?
Brandon:
Hahahaha no the tablets they talked about are definitely not here. I don't think they will get to believe for about 10 more years haha. And we don't use internet or anything for contacting, solely for email to our families and President.
The people here have cell phones, but they are the super old brick kind. Like every 1 in 10,000 will have a smartphone haha. And usually people don't have computers, there are stores lined with computers where you can just walk in and use the computer, and pay for your time, that's what we do to write home! We contact people by talking to them, that's it haha. Sometimes we'll knock on doors, but usually we will just talk to people in the street if we need to pass some time before an appointment.
