Surviving Cambios

Good news with cambios this week!  I get to stay put here in Rosedal with Elder Chacon, still District Leader!  So really nothing changes for us, which is cool.  Something interesting though is that Elder Palacios, my trainer from Tarija, is coming to our zone as the new zone leader, cuz Elder Ochoa got sent to Sucre.  So my trainer will now be my zone leader, but he is also in my district, So i will be his District Leader.  Not sure if you followed all that haha, but weird right?

In other news this week we did a bunch of service, all involving moving rocks haha.  In one of the services, we spent four hours moving two giant boulders across someones yard, it was awful haha.  The family had dug trenches to lay PVC pipe in the ground, but in the middle of the trenches were two rocks.  We had no idea how big they were, and had to dig out the whole rock, and then try to move it. But, it was way too heavy and giant to move, so we had to go old school, and beat on it with a sledge hammer.  When that wasn't working, we had to go even older school, and turn into stonecutters.  With a hammer and chisel, trying to break the thing in half haha.  Eventually we did though, my previous work experience helped out.  I'll send pics in a minute.

to town on them with the Sledge, so that was awesome.  And yes it
finally broke, and we were able to move it.  But even split in half,

Yesterday a huge thunderstorm passed through Cocha.  We had to make it to a lunch appointment with a family of members in our ward, who lived way far away from us.  We left the house, and it was raining yet, but threatening too.  From our house we have to walk about 5 blocks to make it to a main road where a bus passes.  So by the time we made it to that road it was raining, not hard, but the drops were huge!  We got in one of the buses (the bus ride to the bottom of the area of our ward is only like 4 minutes), and when we got to the bottom of the route, it was pouring, with hail the size of marbles!  From the bus stop, we still had about 4 blocks to go to get to the family's house. So we jumped out of the bus and just started sprinting through the downpour.  The streets and sidewalks were semi flooded, and the rain was just relentless.  By the time we made it to their house, we were soaked to the bone, every inch of us haha.  It was literally like we fell into a pool.  So the family had to give us different clothes to change into, and so we changed into some track suits they had and ate lunch like that.  Pretty awesome and hilarious experience.  I have some pics of that too but they don't do it justice.

the lens got a little wet, which is why the picture didn't turn out
great.  But we were soaked!

That wraps up this week.  Survived cambios without any big surprises, which is always nice.  Hope everything is all well back at home. Football season is starting up, which I am super jealous of, so
