The worst was on Friday. We had a meeting in the church at 7 at night, and finished at about 8 30. The church is about a half hour away from our area, so we had some ground to cover. And of course, right as we were leaving the church, it started to rain. Started off sprinkling, and gradually it turned into a downpour. And I didn't have my umbrella, cuz during the day you would have never guessed it was going to rain. So we got drenched, soaked to the bone!! And the best part about our area, is that the roads are just dirt and rocks. There are only like two roads that have pavement, so when it rains like that, it just muddy puddles haha. But honestly when it rains like that, you just get to a point where you dont care. Cuz every square inch of you is soaked, so there is no point in avoiding stepping in a puddle or anything like that. So we just walked right on through, drenched and muddy. Then finally we made it to a main road, with asphalt. But the thing is, this road is all downhill, so all of the water was rushing down this road like a river, and we had to cross it. It was probably about 15 to 20 feet wide, a couple inches deep, and we just walked right through it haha. There was no point in avoiding it. So that was the adventure for the week. Almost drowning in our area.
In other news it was Stake Conference yesterday, and they reorganized our stake presidency. And when they choose the new presidency, one of the general authorities has to participate, assigned by the quorum of the 12 Apostles. So There were two visitors from the 70 in the conference, and it was really cool to hear from them. One of them was Elder Christopher Waddell, he is one of the counselors in the area presidency (the area of Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia). He shared an awesome message about the importance of home teaching, and how thanks to home teachers over 50 years ago, his family is active in the church, it was awesome. President Dyer gave a message too, and had all of us missionaries stand up. It was really cool cuz there were about 20 or so of us, in the midst of about 400 or 500 members. And President basically said that we are the full time assistants to the ward leaders. It was one of those moments where your like, "woah, it's really cool to be a missionary" haha.
Slow week other than that. We have a baptism planned for this Saturday, so hopefully all goes well there. Cambios are coming up this Sunday too, so next week I will let you know my fate for the next
6 weeks!

| On Thursday, nobody was in their house! We tried to visit 26 different people, with zero luck! Can you imagine? We walked SO much! We took a little time out in front of a store to buy a snack, and our buddy here, Pancho, came to our rescue. He's a true friend, when 26 abandoned us, he was still faithful haha. |
Q&A Time:
Q: I know I've asked you before, but tell me again how you find your investigators?
A: There's not just one way to do things here. Sometimes we knock on doors, but its incredibly ineffective, so we don't do that much. Usually we just look for people in the street, mainly families, but most of the time we just ask for references from everyone. Anyone we teach we just ask them if they know anybody that would be interested in our message, and usually they have at least one.
Q. What are the dogs like in Bolivia?
A. Bolivia is full of dogs! Some are mean, but most just wander the streets and don't do anything. Sometimes you can whistle and then they follow you for the next 3 hours, its sick. Cuz all the dogs are super terrotorial, so when our buddy follows us, it turns into a game of "Protect the VIP" (which is a video game reference), but it's fun haha.
